cool. about "music"- I think it could be interesting but... yeah, no "music" theme. I agree.
I think the best theme would be words with imagery. Definitely something that strikes an image in your head
I've never done something like "doomsday". That would be cool. Doesn't have to be earth's doomsday- you can create anything with an ominous feeling.

sounds like the 500 list is getting closer... 
horseflesh and sweetums>i`m afraid any VS one is gonna be a bit the same as the previous one and doesnt leave a lot of space for interpretation... 
i would rather choose some more abstract themes like wings, music, fall... sounds more opened to me... |

i really didn't liked the "vs" theme, so please no other. Its too "plakativ" to me and it was hard for me to come up with anything non clichee ...
And especially those "vs" themes are totally overused in too much challanges ... its really annoying to me.
i like "music", because its not giving you something is visually determinied ... its easier to go with a feeling, to come up with a more interessting composition. So maybe its something for a later round.
Or call it "musician" ... maybe thats the more concrete thing.
Also i remember a quote from med:

"paint something from memory" sounds awkward to me and im not sure if this is a good idea, but nontheless, no theme-idea i would have came up with nor do i expected it ... so i go with meds quote here as well. Let's try it.
I agree with annisahamed half the way.
Yes, a theme strikes an image in your head is a good one ... but i think the theme reminds you of an emotion is a way better start to come up with a visual idea ... ... one of the best themes i can remember was the "the journey begins" from cg-challange one or two years ago ... no visual idea but something with an emotional impact.
So maybe something like "a birthday surprise", "visit by a stranger" or "drunk men" ... thats something i can came up with a feeling and not only a pure telescopically visual idea. You can of course paint some drunken aliens or orks if you prefer scifi or fantasy.
to finish this posting ... "big vs small" is a way more "abstract" theme than "music". Way more ... to me. Cause its only an idea to me ... instead of music i have already felt. But maybe thats the "mistake" i made the last round. I didn't focused on a self-experience but this visual idea "large form small form" distracted me to came up with something really is me.
