So if you had the ability to take ONE specific skill away from some of your favoret artist to improve your art...What would it be?
ME
Yoshitak Amano: I would love to do patterns and designs like this guy.
Tony Diterlizzi: Creature Character. He adds such a great sence of character to his creaturs.
Mike May: Mike's probably reading this hehe...PENCIL SKILLZ...You look at the picture of PITT this guy did and youll know why. Great control and shading with a pencil.
Brian Froud: Sketching with color. Ive seen some great little characters and doodles he has just thrown some water color on and they are simply AWSOME. I love them.
Allan Lee: Also Painting skills. If I stack him and Brian Froud ontop of eachother as painting skills go, Id be really good.
Out of the two best friends and Artist I know.
Poprocksz INKING....He has the mad inking skills. It works so well with his style. Ive never seen someone fill in that much black aria on a character and still pull out all the shapes and what makes the character.
SkeezerSPEED....WE ARE TALKING LIGHTNING...Iv never seen someone draw so much cool shit in so little time. I get a drawing done, look over and he has 5-6 AWSOME drawings with more detail than mine and like3-4 sketche pages.
These are just to name a few. If you could barrow skills, what and who would you take them from.

I'd have Albrecht Durer's vigor and intensity. And Frank Miller's...er...Frank Millerness. (His facility with stark black and white, anyway, a la Sin City.)
That said, though, I want to be the first Socar Myles, not the next Durer or Miller. I don't actually draw like either of these fellows, although I admire them no end. |

hehe, Wow a post already...
Yah, This isnt about drawing or painting LIKE or copying other artist.
Its more about a skill. When I say, I want to paint like brian froud, I dont mean his style and unique way, I mean his skills at watercolor. With those skills I would always be ME..AND TRUST ME SOCAR...Your VERY unique hehe. |

Halo Blitz!
Rinaldo - Imagination and shiny coloring
Craig Mullins - Depth and environment in landscapes
Doug Chiang - His sketches are so squeaky clean it's nuts. Feng Zhu is in this description too.
Francis/Micke - They can draw anything.
Joachim - Coloring.. yeah.
Yoshitaka Amano - Being able to make swirly shapes like that solid.
There's more, but that would go on forever |

Trying to make me think?..........hahahaha
I'm not on there?
Jim Lee: Just being an awesome comic figure artist works for me....i love his style...
king of X-men....
Frank Miller: for his perfect white on black
sketching talent.....and writing
Alex Ross: for his simple yet beautifuly
realistic painting ability....my favorite comic book in the world still is Kingdom Come....the best
Jack Kirby:Just tell me that even now....his style doesn't kick ass......
It's got a look that no-one else can ever replace.........
Some people say it's old and awful.......
But I think it's so perfect....it has that trippy acid look........the way he details machines and
backgrounds is(i'm not a hippie) is far out!
He will always be the King.....
Get Silver Surfer from the beginning series...his art is phenomenal......
Blitz: In the 10 years I've known him....
He's grown soooooo much as an artist, surprising me fully.......
When I've drawn with him over this time he was always drawing the weirdest shit...now it's all coming into focus....You never cease
to inspire me.....I'd steal his style(err borrow)for the creativity.....
peace
