I can draw really good with lines, but when it comes to painting and not using lines, I completely fall apart. Like the other draw I sketched a girls head and then painted it, and it looked pretty good. I tried again after that without lines and I just couldn't get anything to look right. I think I just don't have a good understanding of shape design, values and forms. Does anyone know of any exercises to practice and learn these better? Should I be trying to paint the basic shapes over and over? help! |

Look at stuff, and draw what you see. You'll learn something no matter what. |

I can draw from life very well. But my problem is sketch painting. Just starting with shapes and value. |
