I did this a week or so ago. A friend of mine(katana) came up with the character and I did my interpretation of it. I'm curious as to what you guys think.
Here's a higher resolution.

that's really good, is that a scan or digital? if you colored that by itself, i want to know how i completely suck with pencils and need to know what else i could be using that's more effective

Man... that is pretty fucking cool. (Sorry bout the language but I usually use that word to put an emphasis on what I'm saying) I love the whole design. You need add some backgrounds to these. Just one little thing though. I think the character would have been a little cooler as a brunette. I'm not a big fan of the american ninja types. |

-Its very good (was it done digitaly? it look a bit like "wood color pencil")
-The only thing I see wrong is the size of the stomach, i think its too small.

Totaly! man that's cool.
the proportions are as much out of wack as they are cool tho. the hip area is just plain wierd. I know you can atribute all this to style but you have to be carefull that you don't go too far.
I think he would look strange if you held those proportions over to an action shot. But anyway, not all that important I suppose.
Te warm up light adds a lot of dimension to it. but I'd go with chapel on the blond hair, the american ninja never did it for me.

Awesome Drawing! I love the design of the pants.
[NECK RAMBLED DELETED - I drew the forms through and it works fine for me... sorry about the ramble]
There's really nothing about this that I don't love!

Thanks everyone for your comments.
Tweeder, Spectra: I drew it with regular graphite pencil and then colored it in PS
about proportions: I like to play with proportions to emphasise cirtain body types. Maybe I went a little too far in the waist area, though.
Joachim: I wanted it to look like he was right in the middle of a step or about to take one. Your right, instead it looks like he's leaning a little too far.

Wonderful pic, agent44! I checked out your site and loved everything there, too. We have very similar tastes in terms of things we like to draw, only you're a ton better! Keep it up!
Great stuff...

Dude that's awesome!
Very nice drawing, the style of the character is cool [ that's the skinniest ninja I ever saw ;-) ], and I like the pose and armor. Good job in lighting and color. I love how you used the fabric texture and the rough one on the metal, then painted over it.
Well done. Now he should really eat something or he'll never lift his sword.

Wow!
You gotta love the style you drew that in, although I agree with Rinaldo the proportions are a little funky but no matter. Nice color work for sure, damn, I can't think of anything that's wrong besides his waist, and maybe the color of his hair
So kudos to ya, good work, keep it commin!

Great! The pencil shading under the color gives it a nice feel of texture.

Agent,
Excellent work. Your technique is very much in line with the best of painted cartoons (Graphic novels). When one works that way proportion does not matter as much as the emotional execution. You've done that in spades:-) The paint strokes combined with the pencil strokes give it that graphic look that sells the idea totally. I also loved the hover pack character from your earlier post. Well done |

I really like it, it's great!
I can't do anything similar, but I there's something that bothers me, the way the cloth is pulled down on his stomach, it's looks quite strange to me, I hope you understand me
Good work! |

It brings a tear to one's eye to see a character that you created drawn in a quality so far above your own skill, giving it all new dimentions of cool. Katana traditionaly looks like this.
But my prefrence is now for Agent 44's design. Here is Agent 44's Katana with a background that I did for the website.
