Here's my tip - or opinion rather
I assume that the holey things flapping in the wind are capes. However, the one on the right looks almost like torn butterfly wings. If you were going for the battle scarred, warrior faerie man then I think you did a great job! But if you were going for a torn cape, I'd tweak the shape a bit so it doesn't look so wing-like.
Just my lil' ol' opinion
I really like the whole concept though.

I agree with Jezebel about the cape on the guy on the right. It does look a bit winglike. As for the highlights on the two enemies, it looks like moonlight, but the moon is right behind them. What's the lightsource causing the bluish-white highlights?
Cool pic Seph!

Agree with the cape thing. I might add the left knight looks like been backstabbed rather than having a sword on his back. Good concept and feel, though. |

I see what you guys are talking about. I felt the same about the cape thing but couldnt really come to any successful result.
I also knoew about the reflective shine on the armor but i thought if I had left them completly black then they would appear a lil boring..
I'll try to make it better thanx guys
only 3 replies though, anyone else is welcome !!!

Hey Seph, I'm lovin' the pic!
If you want to show some more detail on the characters from a realistic light source, how about a torch on a pole on either side of the land bridge that they are standing on (to not throw off the balance)? That way you could get some light on both of their backs and a little light on their fronts, that would allow you to add in some more detail on the figures.
Also, just as a reference for the cape problem, just pick up almost any Spawn comic, there are always torn capes flying in the breeze in those.

Cool concept Roth! Your pic has a good atmosphere. Positive Vibes...
I don't really know what it is, but their anatomy doesn't seem quite right though. Or a bit uncertain to me... I just read over my post and don't think it will help much. But maybe I could force one of the good gurus to post some anatomy stuff here...
Maybe a little appreciation helps you likewise(?)

Also. The capes don't look like they're actaully around the persons neck. Just kinda looks like it's pushed to one side. Especially on the right guy. And like said before.. the lighting is a bit funny. Also, a little bit of the bridge or log I assume that they're standing on would have a bit of highlight. |

Evil - Well, when i thought of the characters, i didnt have in mind that the capes would go around they're necks, its more of a cape coming from shoulder armor thing..
As for the highlights on the ground, Im not too sure its a good idea since they're standing on dirt, a montain type natural brigde u could say..I dont think it would be wise to make the ground shine...just my opinion...
What do you guys think ? |

Hey seph, I remember seeing this pic in the showdown thread and i really liked it.
But about the cape. The problem i see is how high the cape is flying, it's pretty much as high as his head. I don't think that is physicaly possible especially with all those holes in his cape. I did a little draw over to show you where i think the cape would fly at.
I hope this might help and maybe give you some ideas. That was the only thing that looked off to me when i saw this pic. |

Well to be honest.. I'm looking at it and thinking that is really unstable piece of land. There's no support for the land underneath..especially if it was dirt. If it was rock, log, or so forth it would maybe be a different story. At first I thought it was a tree because of the "branches". The only reason that I suggested alittle highlights on the ground is that if you look at the picture..the underpart of the bridge is lighter. just a bit odd. And, nothing's better than expereincing first hand. Try going outside at night with the moon out and see waht kind of light it gives off. Good luck though on your pic |
