there is a very serious problem with your proportions in this picture:

she only has one eye. most people have two. you might want to take some life drawing classes to clear this up, or look at your girlfriend a bit more closely.

i'm almost certain about this. unless she's like my grandpa, and had her eye shot off in the Great War.

No, Tinusch. It's pronounced 'tude. Anyway, looking good Hurri. THe light is looking a bit strong for a portrait, almost like an up-close and personal photograph at a party. Only thing that is looking a tad strange is the nose right now...the angle appears to be off, and the nostrils join the skin at somewhat strange angles. However, that may be what she really looks like. (I'm talking basic human proportions and defined characteristics). Overall, I think the light is a bit strong for a frontal portrait like this, but that's probably just me. Great job, love to see it finished.

The mouth and the nose arent right.

the mouth needs to be a little bit the the left and the nose seems a bit twisted to me.

and as hennifer said, the eye needs atleast some make-up =)

and hey..its you thats going to critize me not the opposite way! Master

its nice to see such happy bubbly personalities shining through here.

if you want deadpan serious crit:

1) hair has the texture of straw in your painting. needs a lot of refinement to look soft

2) skin tones are very rough. makes the skin look blotchy, and all the sketchy details prematurely age the picture.

3) from the angle of the nose/eyes we seem to be looking at the girl from slightly below. in this case, her forehead is too big, which gives her a funny-looking hairline.

I could care less about the eyes. I think its good the way it is. WHY, does everything have to be normal ! leave her eyes that way. Its different. Remember the purpose of art sometimes, and that is to confuse your viewer and make them think or scratch thier head. Sometimes its the odd stuff that makes us stop and ponder for a moment. And if someone crits you for forgeting an "eye" you know you've done your job. (only if you did it on purpose)

Like posted before I also think the light is a bit strong, still you might be darkening up as you work im not sure how you do your paintings. As for people complaining so much about placements. You guys should know better than me that know one is a perfect straight face. When you look at the mirror, does your nose look a little bit more to one side, or are you lips a little bit more to one side. I mean I understand from what my teachers tell me about placement and everything being in a certain spot, but that dosent make it have to be that way. In reallity none of us are as perfect, you might even have an ear lower than the other. Just wanted to get my point across. Maybe im wrong who know but when I look at people I dont see perfect faces theres always faults. Im not saying Hurricanes gf is deformed lol shes very pretty, just saying how atleast I see human faces. Ofcourse im a pretty bad drawer, but I can see . Post a picture Hurricane then I think the crit will be more exact. Great work post when finished.

ah after that long post i just did i do see how the nose curves in an unatural kind of way. Lol i still hold my beliefs just dont think that the nose makes an almost ( type of curb. I think its the place ment of the tip of the nose that make the angle look weird.

Lol but i think when someone says they are not done with the image it means its not done, hence the eye missing. Thats just a guess.

The right hand ear seems rather long to me - massive ear lobe under the hoop earring.

And the left ear is erm... missing?

Looks good but is real hard to critique someones face when you don't know what they look like. But speaking in general art terms.....looks pretty good to me, time for refinement.

The mouth and nose may not be off at all guys. Look in the mirror, you'll probably find your mouth is uneven, slants more on one side, one of your eyes will be lower than the other as will one of your ears. It's be nearly impossible to find someone with a symetrical face.
No shit, your face is probably more fucked up than you think.

(Shannon Doherty....check out the eyes on her....scary)
