I've done multiple searches so I'm leery of posting this because I've been around long enough to know how tablet questions can be treated, but I'm asking out of shear frustration.

Has anyone had their tablet just not work? Here at the office it works fine (Win NT, PIII), but at home (Win 98, AMD 650) - zip. The light turns green when the pen touches the pad, but that's it. I've left two of Wacom's techs (their support hours blow by the way) scratching their heads trying to figure it out. One thought it was 98's "Human Interface" and the other thought it may be processor related. Anyone have a similar experience?

Sorry if it's a stupid question and flame me if you wish, but any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Let me take a SWAG at this.

It seems to me that it is probably "processor" related. That's in quotes because it's not necessarily your CPU, but most likely your motherboards chipset.

I'd give you a more detailed explanation, but I'm not sure how well versed you are in PC hardware. If you like give a buzz on ICQ and we'll see what we can do.

Actually, my Wacom stopped working for a good long while. It was driving me mad - the computer would pretend everything was all right, and I couldn't FIND the problem, but the damn pen wouldn't work anyway.

What I did in the end (that worked) was to reinstall Windows... and then download the updated install from Wacom's homepage. We still don't know exactly why the pen was messing up... So I can't /really/ give you any advice...

I had something similar for a while. Everything appears to work ok but it just plain doesn't. An exchange motherboard fixed it. So I assume it was as Zoso said
What board do you have?

Just today I noticed my digital pen's cord was wrapped around the tablet, sitting on top of the CPU that sometimes gets a little hot. I positioned it in front of me, ready to make something in Photoshop when I discovered that the cursor wasn't responding to the pen.

Oh well, I need a better tablet anyway. My current one wasn't even pressure sensitive, just a cruddy second rate brand name. I want to get a Wacom, as everyone else seems to consider them as the standard.
