Yes you could, but you would probably want to mount it to a firmer surface, or else stretch it as you would for watercolor itself.
There are a lot of illustration boards you could use as well, Crescent 2200 Cold Press, or even the 99 or 100. These are relatively inexpensive, and can be found in a few sizes.
I'd recommend Cold or Not pressed board for you, has a bit of texture to it that the paint will grab.
Yikes... just saw that you were asking about the sketchbook versions of watercolor paper.
Well, again, yes you could use it. Of course you'll be lucky in not introducing as much water to the surface. Still, expect some wrinkling. This should settle after a time, but man can it be annoying while you are working. The 140 lb. is pretty substantial, and would put up with more abuse from acrylic than watercolor.
