I'm making this sorta image - and don't get me wrong, I have a colored version of it also (somewhat) - so I'd like to know what people think of the sketch (I tried out a transformed version of it with a little perspective and more dynamic feel as well, but that really isn't the issue here):

I get an impression at first look he's a scuba diver...but then I notice there isn't any water or such or air tubes
so on second thought, it looks like a state of the art virtual game system.
He doesnt' look stupid at all |

Here's a shaded version of the same pic - I have some trouble on deciding what to put into the background and also to the foreground (and how to 'borderline' the pic).

Looks like a guy trapped in a carbonite(?) freezing chamber thing like Han Solo was in SW TESB and ROTJ |

I must but wonder what's wrong with you people? I mean, please, give some comments, eg. how the pic could be improved, what you like about it etc - and don't mind the name of the thread. : |

Excellent shading !
I actually thought for a second that it was a 3d render hehe
A couple of things though, his position looks a little stiff, I dont know it thats intended but maybe try to give him a lil more movement. Also, the lighting is beautiful, but maybe add a lil more dynamic lighting ? Just a suggestion from my part
Great pic though, cant wait to see the finished one |

i was gonna say his collar looked to thin but u fixed it in the shaded version... for us to critique it we have to know what he is doing... if hes being shocked with electricity then he looks good |

Since the pic isn't finished, I don't have all the detail there yet (nor do I have the coloring, foreground, background etc.). What I though he was doing was piloting some small vessel just about to crash.
And Seph, I'm putting in some more highlites, and generally improve lighting (a friend of mine commented that the right shoulder is a tad too wide, so I'll improve that, also turning the 'zipper' to go more straight down would make it look better.). I also had a version of the pic where he vas leaning slightly more back - that would make the pose more dynamic - I'll still try that out.
Thanks for the comments so far and keep'em comin'!. |
