about the model
Created with RHINO3D,,, main form created with cross section lofts,, working from front to back,, then I used Rail Sweeps for trim and I cut areas out using the split tool and used the Blend tool to blend a edge into the cut surface. also some edge curve tool was used in them modeling of the front and rear panneling. Wheels are from a past project.
here is some color,, but still got some more work to do..

Looks very nice! Should look amazing once you get some reflections happening on it. |

thanks guys
Well there is some reflections going on,, but not much to reflect in the scene right now.. =]
But I'm playing with animating it in MAX4
learning this Euler stuff and expression controll over the wheel rotation.. sofar a block with a linked wheel is traveling across my screen,, wheeee so much fun
But I couldn't get the same results with my nurb surface,, Some odd stuff going on there,, my wheels were spinning around the center of my car body,,, arrrrgggghhhhh.. I figure something out.. maybe dummy objects.
thanks guys
it been a fun project....
Love them FORDS |

We've never dealt with NURBS before, so we can help you there. Shiro and I usually model in surface tools. Using a dummy object might sort your problem out though.
Are you aware of the 3D Max forums? |

yeah thanks Highfive,,, I'm waiting for someone to respond,,, I did some more testing but it just gets worse... going to kill 3dsMAX.. =]
I'll figure it out,,, just must be missing one item... I don't know much about MAX,,, mostly only dabble with lighting and cameras and texture stuff,,, the rest just pisses me off... Well box-modeling is cool too,, but I just wanted my car too drive... damn
I'll get it sooner or later

That is really nice and you certainly must have put some work into it. The image looks a little dull and needs to have the highlights a little bit brighter (or you could put in reflections etc but note that there is a subtle difference between the two). I would also try to work on the windows a bit too as they are also a bit dull. |

Matt Elder thanks,, yeah the shine isn't too high and the rest is just simple stuff,, its still in wip..
And I was going to put some white cards up for something to reflect,, but as you can see its only reflecting the light blue sky..
I'll get into that stuff shortly..
I got some testing done today on wheel animation,, now its time to apply it too this model.. |
