hello, in an effort to confuse everyone, i changed my nickname to my real name. or you could call me "the artist formerly known as hennifer"

i noticed a lot of isric's images lately have come from 30-minute exercises that he and a friend work on. i really like the idea, so i tried out a few with binke. here's the result of one that turned out half-decent. the theme, "two whales looking romantic":

btw, binke - if you want, post yours here too!

There's a couple of things that make this image less than it could be;

. Both whales are in an identical pose. This looks really odd.

. The foreground whale doesn't look like it's -in- the water, it looks like it's pasted on. Part of the cause for this is the light beam being behind the whale.

. Actually thats another thing; scale is greatly reduced by the massive size of that light beam, and also because it goes behind the whale. It makes the whale look small.

Row.

suma, good point on both counts. i didn't notice that the light beam ended up behind the whale. a little case of mixing up my layers. =(

as far as the poses, i agree completely. i realized that as i was working, but time time limit came and went. maybe i'll just pretend they're playing 'simon says'.

ok, i guess i'm violating the rules of the 'finished work' forum. i swear, when i posted it, i thought it was finished!

*cringes in the corner*

fixed the 2 problems sumaleth pointed out, and while i was at at, fixed up the shipwreck. a friend pointed out that one blob looked like a scuba diver, so... meh.

That's nice. It looks very cold.
The identical pose thing is the only problem I see.
