Nex -
1) pic with Jesus Christ is called "Jesus2"
there are two pics... and none of them is called shit on a stick.
2) There's no cross on the pic at all. I think any dog has more against crist than I do...
3) even If it was exact copy of quake logo then all you gamers-quake fans must be glad that I tattooed it on christ...
but it isn't... look at bigger version on my recent post called "you will be shocked".. it's very symbolic and means a lot to people who know what is it meant to be
4) If you got no message... no ideas were born in your head then ok... but why get angry everytime when you don't get anything?
relax Nex and thanks for your comments...
I'm learning a lot about you guys by having painful jesus, funny devil and a word shit in one post |

First off ime, nice image of christ. The cartoonish devil wasn't as good.
All you people that are offended need to take a chill pill.
Awetopsy, as a Zen Buddhist, I would have to say that few Buddhists would take offense to labelling a thread containing Buddha "shit on a stick." Hell there is a Zen Koan that says Buddha is a "shit stick" (what Japanese used to use as toilet paper way back when). First off Buddha is not a god, like christ is in christianity, and anyone and anything can be a Buddha, not just Siddartha, who by the way is just one of many Buddhas, and there were before him and after him (Buddha just means enlightened one). Next time I suggest you know what you are talking about before you speak for others.
I think some people in this forum should take a step back, and try to evaluate the message of title and image combinations before they assume the crap they do out of hand, on simple taught nonthinking reactions.
Anyway, once again Ime, great image. |

Ime: when I said it looked a bit like a quake logo, that was all I meant, I didn't imply that you had copied it and as I said it's a good design. My reason for thinking about it twice was I'd hate for people to see my tat and think I was a quake fiend.
BTW I'm not offended by the title or the content

My response to IME's post was not intended as a sermon. It was an honest response to the title and the image which when juxtaposed resulted in the feelings I described. My brief explaination of my position was simply to show where I'm comming from. Nowhere in my post did I call for any censoring of the topic or imagery. That goes against many of my beliefs, freedom not the least among them. I staunchly defend IME's right to post what he did. I don't have to like it.
Now the image taken by it's self is a good sketch. I agree with others that the legs are either too short or that the knees should be enlarged as though bent and foreshortened.
Frankly I look forward to more posts from IME. He has stirred my interest.

1) Industrial music? - yes. (first pic was drawn listening to industrial-gothic orsmthn)
2) best thread? - I think yes... at least i've seen no better... that one has a point in it
3) more pics - of course
4) short legs - damn you're right the point is... first there were only upper part of the pic... about a week later I added legs... maybe that explains my mistake
5) ZenDragOn - woah.. good reply. thanx
what makes me wonder is why my 2 other pics (posted nearly in the same time) were nearly not commented at all... |

Problem with the web is ANY moron can use it.
We should all be pleased by the responces to this post: the muck floats to the surface and we can avoid it.
Please, continue with your sudo-intelectual bantering and indignant defence of impulsive irresponcibility.
(oh ya, almost forgot: ZenDragon- your position is pathetic, not Budist. Easy mistake, just wanted to set you straigt- going around with your phylosphical fly open.)

EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPPINION.
Some people might be offended by this picture, or the title of the post, and that's great. Everybody has different ideas about things. You can't expect everyone to walk around with the same ideas and beliefs, wearing the same clothes and saying the same things. One of the beautiful things about being human is that we are all different.
I wasn't sure what to think when I saw the title and then the image of Christ together. I was shocked, but not offended. This image does not attack my ideals or beliefs in any way or make me feel hated. This is an act of expression, and it's totally legal, and wonderful for that matter.
By the way, I am for the most part Christian, but I think there are other valid religious beliefs in this world as well.

We have a nifty group of folks down here in Mississippi that like to express themselves publicly and dress differently- they are called the KKK. When we raise our children, we don't mearly strive to teach them to operate within the permaitors of the law; it is our hope that they lern to deport themselves with dignity, consideration, and respect.
Was this a deeply considered act designed to chalange the inteclect? I think not. Casting aspersions on the belief system of others is not a way to draw them into a meeningfull discusion of those beliefs; it is ment to alienate.
Worst of all, for me, is the attemp to redress a cheep ploy as a beutifull act of self expression and wit.

Ime, you say you didn't mean offence by this post and you werent calling the first picture "shit on a stick", if this is the case there is other ways to have titled, or layed out the post. In future please be more careful of this and realize how people might misunderstand it.

yes you noticed me... yes I grabbed your attention by hitting you with a cross right between your eyes...
maybe I can understand dhab.. who's trying to be cencor of his forum BUT...
dhab - yes I like blabla chat much more aswell... letting any signs of intelligence into the discussions is dangerous. :P
actually this was a start of my returning to the forum... it's hard to do anything if you'll continue to hide my pictures...
Do you really think that anyone who has ability to think can get morally hurt by my thread?
all of you guys - thanx guys for your replies.. I really apreciate that, It turned out even better than I hoped... I hope that it will go on even If you cannot see pic of the Christ right after clicking on topic...
thanx again guys |

MonkeyBoy, there is a HUGE difference in self expression and hate crimes. I feel truly insulted that you would compare my support for the expression in this thread to that of a racist cult.
Opinions only work if they aren't hateful and forced upon others. That is what I was talking about before. I posted this reply because I was upset that some members were basically being yelled at for saying what they felt about this post. And then those people were being yelled at for yelling at them. I was just frusterated that some people were basically being told "your opinion sucks!" and that they aren't entitled to one. As if they're opinion was the only right one, and the others were wrong.
It deeply saddens me that you don't accept HARMLESS opinions and beliefs, and compare them to the very harmful and hate-filled beliefs of the KKK.
I would also like to remind you that this is a forum, and not everyday life. If some guy came up to me and said "shit on a stick" and pointed to a picture of Christ, it would probably be alittle more offensive, but he would still be just some guy. I'm not forced to listen to him. If the same guy came up to me and said "Christ is shit on a stick" and started beating me down because I'm Christian, then it would be comparable to the KKK.
Those are just my two cents. You don't have to agree with them.
PS: IME, this post was indeed interesting, it's just too bad it had to get so hate filled and rude. Oh, and nice paintings too.

Translation: I really wanted to get a bunch of forum replies, so I deliberately posted something inflamatory.
If you want theological debate, go to a religious board. This is an art board. I'm a pretty intelligent guy, and no I wasn't offended by your post, but I'm offended by the two pages of needless debate about it. Particularly when there are better images by people more concerned with art than being a rebel that are getting one or two replies.
If you'd left out the unnecessary topic name, people might've actually critiqued the work, and then you (and I) could've actually learned something from the thread.
what a concept.

KroM - Thanks KroM
shaithis - you said that you are "pretty intelligent guy" and i'm happy about you. Who said that I want theological debate? I posted 2 of my finished works... it is an ART, find some smart books and find out what does art mean. If Andy Warhol shows 10 Campbell Soup cans and names them "10 Campbell Soup cans" then it is art... and when I post a pic of jesus and a pic of devil and I call it altogether "shit on a stick" then it is "something inflamatory"?
So smart guy show me art, because I think I did my best at it... if you think that this is needless debate then take any other thread and read replies like: "wow cool as always keep it up".
If you are "offended by the two pages of needless debate about it" then why the f**k did you read it? If you think that this is needless then why did YOU - smart one the same thing... why didn't you critique my pictures?
sorry if I got offencive but this time it's only a selfdefence. |

hmm, I don't think this is a way of (quote) "letting signs of intelligence into a discussion", but more a childish way of getting attention, if you ask me....-but noone asked, so I'll shut up
*aren't discussions about religion suited for other boards than this one ? ..there must be millions of that sort of forums on the net.
