This was an overpaint I did. Just a quickie, took me a couple hours. This is my first time doing an overpaint, and I was curious how it would turn out.

I have no critiques because I have not enough skills and because I really like it!
Shame that no one replies until now |

It breaks down like this when it comes to skill:
(from most to least)
- Drawn using your head
- Drawn using indirect photo references or drawn from life
- Drawn using reference photo ('painting' looks exactly like photo)
- Overpainted
The above is how i rate pictures that i see, for some people the skill rating could be all equal, upside down, or totally random :o
So based on that, it is a pretty good picture =] |

I, say the same as flowers, I'm in no way skilled enough to give crits, but I can tell you what it looks like to me...
the robe looks flat... it gives a very good impression of being pressed up against a window... in fact I'd say -to me- the only thing that stops it from looking like somebody really is pushing him up against a plate of glass is his hand which looks like it sticks out...
so I think you should add some more shades to the flat areas of the cloth =)
the face is fantastic tho

Thanks Shizo and flowers. I don't think I'll do another overpaint for a while, at least not if I don't have to. It doesn't feel as fullfilling as painting on my own or indirectly.
Strata: LOL, it does, I never noticed.
