The forum is really fast now, which is great to see
Anyway, I did this pic today for a uni assignment, it's due on wednesday and I still have other pics to draw for it so I had to leave it as is since I'm so pushed for time. I kinda like the sketchy style though. My own self crit is that the axe details are kinda tacky and underdone. They're also way too bright. If only I had more time! Anyway, crits are welcome.
EDIT:
I posted another pic further down.

Weird am I the only one that couldnt enter the forum until now....hmm.
Anyway, Yea I really like the sketchy look of paintings too and yours is looking really good, only one crit and that is the arms looks a little bit stiff and un-controlled, not a biggy thou.
Great light in the scene. :)
Keep it up

Hi n8 thanks for your crit, yeah you're right I'm pretty sure the proportions are off, I gotta work on that!
Matt: Ok thanks for your reply You're right about the arms. I have a big problem in that whenever I paint a sketch, I can't keep the energy of the sketch in there and the painting ends up being stiff.
Thanks CWstone, I appreciate it
Here's another pic I did for the same project, but as you can see, I didn't have enough time to finish so the background is incomplete... I just hope my tutor doesn't mind... hehe
