Bush looks really scared (?)/freaked out... Like when you're around a vicious looking dog, and you dont know if it'll rip your nuts off you yet.

Shit, Repliee looks fucking freaky. I wonder if the first humanoid robots for home will look as freaky too. Imagine getting woken up by your robotic maid whose weird looks you can never get used to every morning. |

It indeed is. It's weird to me though how some people seem not to see that or at least not mind it. Only a short while ago at E3 times I've seen some "discussions" on that topic about the Heavy Rain E3 trailer. I didn't bother to download it since it was rather big and the screencap of it already looked heavily in the valley. But while lots of people said the girl in the video freaked them out others praised it to high heaven for its advances in realism and stuff. I wonder if we can just get used to stuff like that or if there is a different threshold in people.
I for one would prefer a stylized robot to one freaking me out with pseudo-reality though. |

Sylized robots all the way. I mean, make them soft and generally anthropoid by all means, but don't try to make them look exactly like people. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

gLitterbug, thanks for the info concerning this Heavy Rain trailer. I got interested in it and downloaded the demo. I am impressed. It made quite some impact on me. Not because of the graphics. The animation, facial expression and dialog were amazing. Very emotional. Watch it if you haven't seen it already, it's worth it. |

Ok now I guess I have to download it and see for myself if it is in the uncanny valley or not. So I can discuss it out of actual experience rather than hearsay. |
