Shizo,

Are you still living as a Shaolin monk? Excuse my ignorance, but how long does that last? Do you live up there forever? Are you "back down" now just living as you normally were prior to going? Did you learn cool stuff? Is your kung-fu strong now?

Fill me in, I'm curious!

.... most importantly, do you even come around these parts anymore? Razz

I've been reading that journal this week and just finished it. It's a totally excellent read.

I galloped over it and mostly read the parts about the people you met and about culture, not the actual training parts. A very nice read, I enjoyed it and was kinda sucked into the chinese atmosphere for an hour. Thanks Smile

Heheh thanks for reading. That was written a couple years ago though. Now I've learned some new things about China (now also from a city-dweller's perspective) and came to terms with some old bad ones.

Funny thing is, thanks to our support (and mainly mine) the owner of that second bullshit-martial arts school made a few hundred thousand dollars so far. That school is located in the middle of nowhere, so he spends about $20 per student per month and receives $1000 from each just in the first month. Summer peaked at ~50 students. Pure profit baby!! Ok ok.. I said I came to terms with some of the bad things, but not really :S I'm preparing a small Ninja squad to go kill him.
