isn't it 14:00 GMT ??? (and in GMT+1 as i am ... 15:00?)
Or am i one of those timezone shenanigans?
The sun arises earlier in the eastern, so if its in the atlantic ocean(GMT-2) high noon, the sun passes its high point in europe already.
So tell me im a fool, but that sounds right to me.
Anyway, send in my work some minutes ago; didn't have the time to go back and paint in some strokes. _________________ Lars Gtze

The "24-time zone" shenanigans has STILL passed. Your stuff was due hours ago.
Since Horseflesh unfortunately decided to go ahead and submit his piece, I will have to risk being defeated by him. BUT, all you lazy stupid heads who could not be bothered to submit an entry, EVEN THOUGH YOU HAD PM AND FORUM NOTICE OF AT LEAST 12 DAYS, well, guess what, YOU LOSE! Buwahahahah! I beat all of you, because YOU didn't get your entries in!
Now, once I vanquish Horseflesh, I will have less of you to defeat in my plans for world sijun forum art domination! Love me and fear me.....
Oh. Sorry...Got a bit overenthusiastic, there...
Well, Med, what you got, you got at this point. I suggest adjusting your fantastically mind-blowing elimination chart to include ALL of us who DID make the deadline in the first "Winners Chart," and then we start the "Losers Chart" with the next round... Since the original set up would have had 15 winners and 15 losers, and it looks like you'll end up with about 18-20, or 2/3 of the original entrants, it shouldn't make things too complicated...
C'mon, upload the images, already, I'm dying to see 'em! _________________ Life is short. Expect nothing, enjoy everything.

Maybe, for the next time ... its an idea to say - instead of giving a specific date and time - just "from the time of this post on, in exact 10 days."
So everyone can set up his timezone in his profil-options and everything is easy!
(edit: exept the point, sommertime-change isn't involved) _________________ Lars Gtze

I agree.
Due Date: 'X'Day, 'X'Date, "High Noon, GMT. One time zone, the "standard" at noon. Period. No excuses, no allowances.
Those of us who DID manage to submit an entry have proven we can master International Time zones...We can always adjust our Sijun Control Panel to GMT,
There is more than enough time for even the laziest of us slackers to make something...
Oh, wait. I heard a dozen of us STILL couldn't manage to meet the deadline...losers.
But, the point is, we should all be able to meet a deadline without anyone else having to jump through hoops on our behalf.
That's called being Responsible and Accountable.
Now, where the hell are the submitted entries, and more importantly, how soon before we can start the next image? It took me 9 out of 12 days alloted to even come up with a halfway decent idea...They get much more complicated, and I'll need the list in advance. _________________ Life is short. Haha sweetums, I'm glad you're enjoying this competition
dura- that idea sounds acceptable, I'll try to have a more solid plan on deadlines
I'll see what I can do about getting the next round up and running as soon as possible, I actually have to move to a different city today so I probably have to go to the school library to set up the next round. (I won't have internet at my place yet)
As for the entries (Drum roll!)
We have 27 out of 30, unfortunately some were unable to make it. But that's okay, we have more rounds for a chance to see their work
(I'm juggling between packing and setting this up right now)

Overall I was really impressed and enjoyed seeing the entries coming in. I'd like to apologize if any size or resolutions have changed because I bulk-uploaded them onto photobucket.
I will be creating a vote template probably later tonight, if you can figure out a way of saying yay or nay for each match on your own go ahead.
Enjoy! (sorry I'm in a hurry) |

Yeah, alyssa, really great one! Good fight!
Misc, nice idea ... lol ....
Cicinimo, ... i wish i had your moody story in mind, but i couldn't think of such one ...
...you guys know "small vs big" ... its such a plakativ announcement, its hart to get the right feeling and forget the competition and just paint for yourself to get the maybe even better picture.
That was - for me - the hardest challenge in the first round; to feel free enough ... always this dominating theme pops in my mind and i had to paint such a stupid indirekt story like misc did.
I'll try to concentrate more on what i really like in the second round.
Nontheless im quite happy with what i came up with and its nice to see all those other approaches ... ... its good to know everyone is allowed to paint a second picture ... ... great challenge! _________________ Lars Gtze

Okay, you can check out my voting idea here.
If people don't want their vote public, you can hit the Quote button, make your selections, and then PM or e-mail it to Med. If that's okay with him.
Do you think it will work? How long should we allow all 27 of us to vote? _________________ Life is short. Expect nothing, enjoy everything.

Amazing to see such an explosion of creativity from just three small words
It was a powerful experience to watch the images when everyone has been associating aroud the same words... Like a collective mind that comes together for the first time.. or something... eh..
