Frst time on Sijun, so I hope I'm doing this right. (I did search for Painter 11, didn't see anything relevant.)
I have Painter 9 and use 10 on another system.
Trying to decide if the upgrade is worthwhile.
The forums (at PainterFactory, for instance) are full of posts about crashes and other issues.
My own issues are about memory leaks, sudden, no warning crashes. I love the program - have used it way before it went to Corel - but it seems unstable. My questions about the issues have been totally ignored by Corel.
None of this inspires a great confidence in the practicality of an upgrade.
Aside from that, what are the real improvements or advantages of going from version 9 to version 11?
Opinions?
Advice? _________________

I'm using 9 as well, and am likewise scared by the number of bugs I'm hearing about in 11.
Personally, I'm holding off.
Corel seems almost pathological about adding features to software without addressing underlying problems ... I watched them slowly murder Photo-Paint by crushing it with feature-bloat, and I really hope they aren't doing the same to Painter.
Features sell, but they aren't going to get any repeat business if their customers aren't happy with their experience. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

I have just tried the 11th version. Looks to be slower than the 9th one, at least on large canvas sizes and with big brushes. And actually all the so called "new features" are not worth of investing extra 300€ to me. Though the polygonal lasso (that I miss very much in Painter) is nice to find finally in the 11th version. _________________ digitalben.com |

Corel seems to have always had a problem with new versions of their software. It almost seems as if they send out betas as final versions just to get the user base to debug for them. I first got into graphics software way back in the 90s with CorelDRAW!... even won one of their monthly contests with a vector drawing of a broken wineglass on a piano keyboard. CorelDRAW! was great, but you soon learned not to get the upgrades until way after they were put out on the market and debugged... by the user base ... _________________ HonePie.com
