thanks Q.design!
I was looking at some of your guys works and realized I know jack about lighting, so I set about trying to classify different types and do some abstract spaces trying to show them and learn it in practice...
so they are- brilliancy while looking towards a light source, shadow patterns away from a light source, light passing through a surface vs. light bouncing off vs. a mass blocking light, and bounce light from an illuminated surface...the cool thing about thinking about this stuff is it lets you read your values and colors easily, so if I know the picture will be about bounce light then I know the lightest value will be the lit surface that provides it. If the picture is about facing the light source and those effects then obviously the lightest value will be the light source!

Q.Design and Nide, thanks guys.
Q.Design, I usually find inspiration in condensation
trails and how they evaporate; there's a real
interesting perspective that comes with those
aswell, better keep the eyes on the sky.
Lemur, those tree cast shadows are really nice.
Was trying to boil some potatoes here just now but
the suckers won't be boiled, lol I knew there was a
reason why I never eat potatoes.

It is a rainy day here and continuing an oldie speedpaint from a year go seemed like a good idea.

Very strange costumes people used to wear in the past. ArtRage.

thanks Matthew!
farvus-thats awesome! thought I was hallucinating or something for a sec
just focusing on how to differentiate things from one another, this from that that from this how can we make the end of this different from the other side-the duality fills my brain!

ZupZup, thanks my man.
Been experimenting some with selections, trying to simplify as much as possible.
