I know we've got some pretty smart cats in here. I've got a really irritating guy buzzing around my forum I just created (http://pub10.ezboard.com/bsiliconmagforums). Truthfully I'd like to know a little more about him. Being a moderator I have access to his IP, anyone know how I can find out his info from it? I dont want to do anything illegal. I just want to scare him by giving him his information handed to him. Can anyone help? -Ben

download a trial version of traceroute
use it.
that will tell you their ISP unless they're using an anonymous proxy to mask their real source.
if you have their Email and it isn't through an anonymous site (like hotmail) but is instead through their own domain (asshat.org or whatever) then go to a domain registry site on the web and look up the contact info for that domain name
those are a couple of leads for you. |
