Since you responded to me I think I owe you the feedback. I gotta say you've gotten alot better at drawing than your previuos stuff. It looks solid and I can't seem to think of anything negative to tell you....Maybe you should try to do some fantasy/video game art like Dhabih has. I'd like to see that.

Hey man, great image! =)

The only things I see wrong are the neck is totally unshaded... but I think you wanted to leave it that way... And also, the ear ring drew my attention, it looks kind of placed there for some reason...

Other than that!

ITS BAD ASS!

i'm with imdaking on that... great image! but like he said, the earring stands out too much (its much too "sharp" for the image in general)and why does the neck get bigger towards the head, when it should be the other way around <scratches head>? Otherwise, good work, bud!

Wow! That really is a great pic! Except the lower part of the pic (chest, shoulders and neck) seem to be laking detail and not very refined. But otherwise, some great work!

i agree thats a great pic. I have a couple of things to whats already been said. I think it would be a good idea if you moved the right eye(0from our view, her left eye from her view) slightly lower. The chin, mouth, and nose all follow an angle, but the eyes don't match up. I fooled around with the pic a bit, as something just didnt seem to "read" or work very well. I tried flipping the image, which often gives me a new perspective on art, and allows me to see things i would have normally missed. If you then draw a line over the lips to show the slant or angle that they take, and then move this line up to the eyes, you can see how the right eye should accordingly move down a bit.
-hope you understand this

Great pic though, nice smooth shadows and highlights on the face, and the hair, although not too realistic, has a awesome quality about it.

How'd you do that background aswell? Its very cool. Also, maybe want to go over the process of the pic with the guy(you?) smoking? I think it works really well as an image.

Thats great man! I'm with others on this, the neck would be better defined if it had more shading. Other than that looks cool.

Just wanted to say it's very nice. Just very VERY nice.

And I do agree on the neck, other than that, it's good.

Cheers!

Nice picture!
But in my opinion I think the hair looks a bit too blurry, besides that....a very nice one.

Thanx for all critisism!

Few comments:

* Right eye.. I agree, will probably try to move it a bit and see.

* Earring - will try to make it "melt into" the picture better..

* The neck. Yes it's not shaded much. I got really, really fed up with the picture.. just wanted to finish it up fast Also the sweater or whatever she's wearing is supposed to be of some soft fabric therefore not reflecting light especially much... and as I said, wanted to be done with it.

* The hair. It's supposed to be some kind of small dreads.

Again, thanks for all feedback

Okey immi here's some info on how I did those things.

My backgrounds are kind of a chaotic process. I don't know if can explain exactly how I create them but I'll try to give you the basics.

Basicly I go wild with filters distortning and adding lighting and playing with the layer options. In the girl piece I started out with gradient filling a layer and played with the contrast and added some lighting using "texture channel" set to red or green. Distorting it a bit. I guess you could get the same result quite easy with the airbrush tool and maybe some lightning to it. The texture you see in the backround is actually a picture of a trainyard cut to pieces and copied to several layers and then rotated. These layers where set to color burn with different opacity..

The one with me smoking: The picture is a B&W pic that's inverted and colorized. It's also distorted a bit with Brightness/Contrast. The "glow" around it is done in the classic "exploding text" way. I'm sure you can find "how to's" on that one on some tips'n tricks page. Basicly you polar coordinates and use wind then polar it back again. I also added some zoom-blur to soften it up. The burning text behind me was done using the same trick. It's copied to several layers set to different modes (color burn / dodge..). The background is just a bunch of colors in a layer, distorted a whole lot and then run through the watercolor filter...

Umm.. reading what I just wrote I realize how hard it must be to understand how I work.. but I really can't explain it better. I almost never plan ahead but rather just fool around a while and if it looks cool I go for it. Chaos is my middle name
