u know those friend's u've known for a long time that suddenly become extremely asshole-ish and such? u suddenly hate them with a passion and want to rip out their eyes and send them to their mother?
and they only get worse by thinking they're all coy and funny and subtle when they aren't and they piss u off and provoke u with stupid statements that u wish u could respond to with a "cuz ur a goddamn dumbfuck u fuckin assfuck (fuck)!"?

i have one of those but i can't say those things to him cuz he's been my friend for most of my life and i have some strange sense of morality which doesn't allow me to do that to ppl i know.

If you've known him all his life and what not, then isn't it equally possible that YOU turned into the asshole prick and HE'S the one holding out from calling such bad names?

Either way, once you've known a guy long enough and you still like him, it's possible that either of you two is just going through a phase, and hasn't actually completely assholified. So, therefore, don't break up with him. Just stick with it. 's what being friends is all about.

yes i've gone over that possibility. i have changed of course, no one stays the same forever. but all our other friends have noticed the same thing in the asshole (without me telling them to of course :P) and he has new friends now anyway.
