WOW! That second chameleon is absolutely excellent! I adore how you have the levels of sharpness in your pic (granted there are only two here, but the concept is still a new one to me, so I am amazed whenever I see anyone pull it off so wonderfully!)

I even love your reflective lighting on the underside of that cute critter! ;} Bravo! More?

Oh, and this may seem obvious, but are you using a wacom? I'm still doing it the hard way, but I'm doing okay with said mouse. There seems to be some lining in your chameleon that looks very mouse-unfriendly. It was a wacom, wasn't it? *grumble* perhaps I should finally break down and get one. ;}

merekat:
thanks, I haven't used that blurry background effect too often in my pics.
Though, for some time now, I've been practising a more realistic (photo-like) approach to my paintings, and I'm glad to hear that some of you liked the blurred bground.. I'll be doing more of this.

And yeah, I've got a wacom. I was ready to give up painting with mouse last spring, and decided the only way for me to do any digi stuff is to get a good tablet. no regrets so far :)
Some of the hard edges in the 2nd chameleon pic are lasso work, making selections to keep your edges clean might make painting with mouse somewhat more pleasant. Still, getting a Wacom will be a huge improvement in user-friendliness, you won't break your wrist so easily :Q
