Frost, your humility and tendence to get depressed always depresses me, since your work is really good! (Except for your "blah"-pic hehe). That carricature is awesome, I wish I could do that. Yes, you can crit the shit out of everything, but no need. It rocks. I only crit, when i can see something obviously done wrong, which i can't in your pic. So: sorry, no crits from me. You could use a little more pride in your work, it deserves it!
I'll stop ranting now, don't bother... |

Frost man,
(begin inspirational story and stuff)
I just want you to know, that ever since I've been posting on this board, and even
before that time, when I was a sijun
window-shopper - I have admired your work.
The post-apoc American warrior, the cloud-train and that adorable rocket-baby
(edit: oops, that was Tinusch's :P)
Never doubt your skills... I did that for 5 minutes today and saints-be-praised, I was
finally able to figure out how to beat it...
or at least what not to do to make it worse.
I was drawing some really bad robot legs and it was just about to drive me insane - too
make me put my pencil and paper away, but
instead, I caught myself "getting" frustrated
and proceeded to draw some faces from magazine instead, and they turned out good.
Next time I tackle the robot, I'm going to do some looser design... anything to balk the
premature-perfectionist tendencies I gots. It's a bloody buggery block to beat!
Now all I need is some more practice bumping up against the frustration barrier so I can
use that energy to approach my drawing dilemmas from other angles
(end of inspirational story)
Jaymo says it all about the portrait/caracature. Actually, the right eye seems a bit bigger than the left eye in the back, but it still looks okay thanks to the mood of the pic. No real crits.
And the bottom pic is great. Super maroon! Fun hairstyle. Her raised leg is a bit thin
in proportion to the body.
...plus, I think biker-chic(man) needs an encore drawing to set the record straight...
[edit: I was trying to get all the text on the screen so it wouldn't run over to the right.... ugh, looks like a poem.]

Frost -
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with the "morning after" art test... I try to tell myself that some stuff just turns out better than others... but that seems to be little comfort when I REALLY want to delete the embarassing culprit.
The self-portrait and girl close-up really rocks! Great job!

morning after person here too..
geez, nice pics there, guy, as usual love all of your artwork. your stuff is so profound, so eerie almost, like you're always dreaming or something. and don't deny your skill and talent. it kills me to read masters like you bashing on yourself like that.

Thank you all for your nice comments. You're all very kind. I liked how that dracula came out, maybe I should do more scary stuff... Kyri and Cos Coniotis would be proud. =)
A quickie now before going to sleep... (no pun intended.=)

These are great. My favorite is the close-up of the girl's face. It has such a cool mood. But your other pictures have that feel in some way or another.

lotsa really nice stuff Frost. I really like the that vampire and the girl's face..and I see you've experimented a bit with mixing lotsa colors. You kick butt frost
crits, I think spooge commented on this some time ago !?? don't know. You should try some times to sharpen up the edges some times. I mean, kinda more straighter and more defined edges. If you combind the more blurred, varried edges that you do, which fits really well on images like the vampire, with some more straight edges, on pics like the girls you do, I think you could get a really interessting result.
Damn, I'm having problems explaining myself. Hope you understand what I mean.
one thing is for sure, you should never feel bad about your work anymore
