LoTekK,
Thanks, we are finally ready for visitors at the new site where all of your questions should be answered.
brainwash,
No problem, head over to the site via the link below to check out the preview and the description of the book.
Sumaleth,
Thanks.
***************
Yes, yes, finally we have the website ready for visitors. If you run into any problems or have suggestions of how we can make it better please drop us an e-mail. We counted all of the illustrations including sketches, comps, and renderings and we have about 370 to share with you in the book. The print run will be a small one, so I suggest if you really want to get a copy of Concept Design, that you purchase a discounted copy sooner rather than later. Here is the link to the new website, DesignStudioPress
Thanks again to everyone for your words of encouragement over the last year. Please help us to spread the word about the new website so we can do another one of these next year for you.
Thanks again,
Scott Robertson

Hmm, if i think about ... its a really great success for the whole Community(sijun, concept.org, eatpoo or whatever doesnt matter, its all the same ) ...

Just ordered my copy.
Found a bug in the ordering process: it's checking to see if the ZIP CODE number is at least 5 numbers long, but zip codes in australia (called area codes here), are 4 numbers long. And other countries might have < 5 numbers too. I put a 0 at the start of it, but you might want to look at that. |

Duracel ,
Thanks, I'll pass along the request. Hope to meet you someday as well. Thanks.
Sumaleth,
Thanks for that. I'm less than thrilled about the shopping cart software. I'm already having a custom system quoted. Hope to be able to have it done sooner than later. Glad you found a way around it, thanks again for your order. |

Damn, I need to mop up that puddle of drool before it spreads to the surge protector my computer's on.
I'm looking forward to Fedex dropping off my copy of the hardcover.
Really, it looks great, and thanks for posting so much artwork from it and keeping everyone informed about it. |

Nice, I want a copy...... But I don't use plastic anymore. Is there any way for me to order a copy of the book via snail-mail?

Sorry to drop in on questions to Scott, but:
Malachi: There were definitely options in the ordering process that let you send the payment via snail.
HoodZ: The page says that if you pre-order before the end of December you get the book at a lower price than what it will be upon release. |

Sumaleth,
Thanks for the help. I'm so swamped right now it is hard for me to keep up with all the questions. You are correct on both counts. You can order via snail mail. And book will cost more when it starts shipping, not less. For snail mail just choose the option to pay with check or money order right below the shipping options. Fill out the billing and shipping part so I get it right the way you want and then print that page and mail it to the address listed. Thanks again to everyone who is helping us get this project off the ground. My web designer is working on a 42 slide, slide-show preview I put together yesterday for next week. It shows two pages per slide so you will get to preview 84 pages of the book next week. That is almost half of the book. I think you will like it.
Thanks again for the support, each order really helps and we appreciate it. |

Thanks Guys.
jayceeL ,
You can order from the site the same as the US citizens are doing. I have a few orders already out of the UK. If you have any problems just drop me an e-mail via the contact info on the site. |

I ordered from Australia. Kinda scary that the postage costs half as much as the book, but what can you do. |

Ok, so it's generally bad form to bump a post this old... but... weighing at 4! pounds, my copy of the book just shipped
::does little happy dance around his apartment::
::very glad he doesn't have any roommates to annoy::
by the way, it bears to mention that, at least for me, then sender is listed as Global Dist Pack Svc Inc. The only reason I discovered it's the book is because DesignStudioPress is listed as one of their clients. Caused a heck of a lot of confusion because I havn't ordered anything online in a month of so...and i ordered this back when preorders became available, so I kinda forgot about it.
but all is well, because i'll have a nice big book on the way to me. _________________ They don't know who they're f***ing with... they're f***ing with a lean, mean, tattooed, rated-g boy scout.

Man, I'd been wracking my brain trying to think of what I'd ordered all morning . . . "what's this message from UPS?" . . . thanks for doing the detective work and bumping the thread _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

xheadinthecloudx and ballistic,
Yes books are on the way! Sorry about that lack of description, description from UPS. I realized that problem on Wednesday and the UPS tracking info should contain a proper description of the books en route from now on. Thanks again for everyone's support.
Enjoy your books. _________________ Scott Robertson

I'm happy with it. Some of the pieces are weaker than others, but the strongest ones make up for the stuff that probably should've been left out. All of Scott's stuff is a pleasure to look at. The gatefolds are nice, and the printing is high quality . . . it's definitely got that "new book smell"
I'd say it was worth the price. Tons of pictures, including sequences showing the progression of a work. The section on digital plein air painting was interesting. Nice use of color in those. I was hoping to see more creature/robot design, but the book's focus is more on vehicles and environments.
Now let's see if we can pester Scott into compiling "Sijun: the book" Hell, the propeller thread and the gangster thread would both make fine chapters . . . _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Glad everyone is receiving their books okay. Ballistic, thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you enjoyed my block of work. I hope to have some stronger design content for my part in the next one. Regarding creature-bot stuff, I'm just putting the finishing touches on a book featuring the artwork of Carlos Huante. Here are a couple of peeks at some of his artwork...
I hope to have this book in print by Comic Con in July. I'll be posting a few more pieces as we get closer to delivery.
A forum book? I've been kicking around the idea for sometime now, but have not come up with a plausible way of doing it. _________________ Scott Robertson
